First Day

Just wanted to let everyone know that I survived my first day... I didn't die, and neither did any of my students. So while there were quite a few bumps along the way that stressed me out from the very moment I got there to the very moment I left, all in all whenever there are no deaths, it's a successful day, right? I'm pleased overall, but EXTREMELY exhausted. I have a lot to learn and make better, but I didn't come home crying.

Derek had a good day, too. Things didn't go exactly as planned for him, either, but he made it through. We celebrated tonight at O'Charleys for dinner, mainly because I refused to cook anything since I was so tired. There are more stories, but those will have to wait until I have more energy to type. So this is a very short post for me, but I just wanted to say thanks for everyone's prayers...they really got us through! Keep 'em up! :-)

  1. WOW. i cant believe you made it out alive. i hope i am that lucky next wednesday! the advantage is i'll only have to see kids for 45 minutes at a time and if it's awful i move on to the next class. however, i have to have 5 first days in a row and meet hundreds of children haha. maybe by the 5th first day i'll know what i'm doing and it will go smoothly!
